Tami Hills never imagined she would buy a move-in ready home. The professional organizer and DIYer dreamed of buying an old New Orleans house she could fully renovate. A Mid-Century Modern Home in Delaware — House Tour

Name: George Marrone
Location: Wilmington, Delaware
Size: 4,300 square feet
Years Lived In: 7 years, owned

George discovered this stunning house — just outside of Philadelphia — while helping a friend look for properties online. He works in healthcare, but has always had an affinity for architecture and design. Today, this artist-built 1959 gem is set along a creek among gardens in a setting that’s utterly captivating. But the house itself was near ruin when George found it. He saw nothing but potential, purchasing it immediately, and getting to work quickly with his pups in tow. “While builders wanted it for the land alone, I saw it as the retreat I was seeking,” recounts George. “A post and beam house that is at once warm and modern, curated spaces that are relaxed and comfortable yet cool and sophisticated.”

A Graphic Designer's Collected Seattle Home — House Tour

Name: Jordan
Location: Capitol Hill — Seattle, Washington
Size: 1,000 square feet
Years lived in: 3 years, renting

A friend of Jordan’s once called her a professional appreciator, and that is just exactly the right title to give this creative force of a woman. She’s a freelance graphic designer, but I first knew of Jordan as a source of restaurant recommendations via her Instagram account, Local Trove (there are so many great spots in Capitol Hill that it’s tough to keep track — it’s important to have sources on the inside). Soon, I came to think of her as a source for great shops, unique art, interesting people, and inspiration.

The Blue & Pink Home of Australian Artist Jenny McCown — House Tour

Name: Jenny McCown
Location: Brisbane, Australia
Years lived in: 20 Months

Some years ago I first met artist Jenny McCown when I photographed her home in East Brisbane — a five-bedroom Queenslander with a bright pink door. She has since moved into a more modern (and smaller) two-bedroom apartment on Brisbane River. It is in an enviable location, with a view off her balcony across Jacaranda trees with the river just beyond. But what I love most is that it is still such a true projection of her style and taste.

A Colorful & Crafty Home in Brisbane for Two Adorable Dachshunds & Their Owners — House Tour

Name: Rachel Burke, her husband Thomas and their dachshunds, Daphne and Daisy
Location: Brisbane, Australia
Years lived in: 3 years, owned

Rachel Burke has been on my radar since 2012 when she made a dress every day for a year. So it was certainly wonderful to step into her bright and colorful home that she shares with her kind husband Thomas and their two little dachshunds (who eventually warmed to me after a little coercing with some treats!).
