Get the Look: A Grown Up, Frozen-Inspired Scandi Royal Bedroom

Last month, Disney’s Frozen made its Broadway debut. While I can’t comment on the success of the transference from screen to stage, I can skate down memory lane to when Frozen first premiered in theaters and the cheesy, cartoony kids bedroom decorations overwhelmed the internet. So I propose we leave the snowflakes behind and settle in with some gorgeous Scandinavian design inspired by the movie to create a bedroom fit for a queen. It will still serve Frozen vibes, but in a much more grown up way. It’s a style that’s worth melting for.

Before and After: An Unsightly Attic Becomes a Stylish Bedroom (with a Walk-In Closet to Boot)

When interior stylist Jaimy and her husband Marcel wanted a quieter place to live, they decided to move to her hometown…where they were able to buy her childhood home. To truly make it their own, the new home needed quite a few updates. One of the most striking transformations has been the attic. The idea was to let daughter Dalí have the master bedroom, so Marcel and Jaimy could inhabit the top floor. It sure is spacious enough, but a lot work needed to be done. Like most attics, it had been used for storage without paying much attention to aesthetics. An outdated sink unit was still in place, but slowly falling apart. This floor was, to put it mildly, rather depressing.

The "Make and Pile" Method Might Save Your Messy Bedroom

When faced with a messy bedroom, sometimes it’s easier to just shut the door than to climb the mental mountain of starting to actually pick it up. Disorder begets disorder and entropy is an easier, downhill path to take (especially when only you will see the room). But what if you were to flip the script and use an orderly room to motivate you before you put even a single errant item away?

How a Decorating Duo Would Spend $200 to Update a Bedroom — Shop Like a Decorator

We’ve heard it time and again: the bedroom is often the last place you tackle decorating because it’s behind closed doors (and it seems more practical to devote your energy and dollars to the more public areas of your home). However, just because you’re not ready to take a deep dive into reimagining your sleeping quarters doesn’t mean there isn’t something you can do to spruce up the place in the meantime…sort of like a pre-makeover.

Our Favorite New Bedroom Trend is Larger Than Life

Beds have been around for thousands of years, so you’d think that we had pretty much seen everything, design-wise. But that’s where you’d be wrong. After the invention of rolled steel made modern bedframes possible, the design of the bed really took off. On a modern bed, the headboard is not so much a part of the bed’s construction as a statement that introduces the bed to the world. It anchors the bed in the room, gives it prominence, makes it a comforting feature. So it is, perhaps, unsurprising that there’s a recent trend towards making headboards bigger and bigger. I, for one, am all for it. Let’s take a look.
